More words of condolence are still pouring in to the Magadla family following the passing of EFF Councillor Mawande Magadla, who died on November 3, 2025, at the age of 43. The Alfred Nzo District Municipality (ANDM) is deeply saddened by his untimely passing and joins the community in mourning the loss of a dedicated public servant. Magadla, a resident of Ngonyameni Village, Ward 04 in the Umzimvubu Local Municipality, was renowned for his humility, strong leadership, and dedication to serving his community.
According to the statement issued by the ANDM, the Speaker, councillor Sixolile Mehlomakulu, expressed shock at the news of councillor Magadla’s passing, describing him as a principled leader who cared deeply for the people of the district, regardless of political affiliation. “The departed servant was vocal and passionate about developmental programs that sought to improve the quality of life for all residents,” said Mehlomakulu . “I send our condolences to the family, friends, colleagues, and members of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF). His contributions will be greatly missed.”
The statement further says Magadla served as the member of the ANDM Municipal Public Accounts Committee (MPAC) since 2021, with commitment and integrity. His passing has left a void in the municipality, and he will be remembered for his tireless efforts to advance the interests of his community.
