“There is One ANC in Kokstad” says SRTT

In a show of unity and commitment to taking the ANC back to the people, the ANC Kokstad Sub-regional Task Team (SRTT) hosted a soccer and netball tournament on December 13, 2025. The event was held at Bhogweni Stadium for football and Shayamoya High School for netball, under the theme “Taking the ANC back to the People”.

This was shared at the media briefing held outside the ANC constituency offices, after the person with the keys submitted an apology citing illness, which the leadership accepted. The SRTT Coordinator Cde Monde Nondabula emphasized that this incident did not indicate a division within the ANC, affirming that there is only one ANC in Kokstad. The tournament, which was part of the ANC’s renewal project, aimed to engage the youth and promote sports development in the area. The event was also a celebration of the Day of Reconciliation, with the ANC quoting Nelson Mandela’s famous words, “sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire. It has the power to unite people in a way that little else does”.

According to Nondabula, the tournament saw participation from sportsmen and women from various wards, with Ward 7 emerging as the netball champions and Ward 4 winning the football tournament. The SRTT Coordinator, Cde Monde Nondabula, expressed gratitude to the participants, coaches, referees, and the community for their support. The event highlighted the need for improved infrastructure in local sports facilities, which are currently overused. Despite this challenge, the tournament was deemed a success, demonstrating the youth’s trust in the ANC and its renewal project.

Nondabula emphasized that, the SRTT was appointed by the Regional Task Team (RTT) on November 25, 2025, to drive the ANC Renewal Project in the Kokstad Sub-region. The project focuses on taking the liberation movement back to its rightful owners the people. As the festive season approaches, Cde Nondabula wished the people of Kokstad a Merry Christmas and a prosperous new year, urging them to enjoy the holidays with responsibility, love, and peace.
