ANDM LAUNCH DEBT RELIEF

“We urge all qualifying customers to take advantage of this limited-time opportunity.”

The Alfred Nzo District Municipality has announced the launch of a comprehensive Debt Relief Scheme aimed at helping residents and businesses regain control of their municipal accounts.

According to a statement issued by the ANDM Communications Unit, the initiative is designed to alleviate financial pressure and promote a culture of payment for essential services. Under the scheme, residential customers who pay 10% of their debt will have the remaining 90% written off, while commercial customers who pay 30% of their debt will have the remaining 70% written off by the municipality. Customers can settle their portion of the debt over a period of four months.

The ANDM emphasizes that this scheme is a commitment to providing tangible support to residents. Executive Mayor, Vukile Mhlelembana, said, “We understand the financial challenges our communities face. This debt relief scheme is our commitment to providing tangible support, ensuring our residents can access services without the burden of overwhelming debt. We urge all qualifying customers to take advantage of this limited-time opportunity.” The application window for the Debt Relief Scheme is open until December 31, 2025.
